Bio

Jeffery Darensboug (Ph.D., University of Louisiana at Lafayette) is a writer, public speaker, tour guide, language activist, and board member for multiple non-profits based in Bulbancha, the original name for “New Orleans.” He is an enrolled member and tribal councilperson of the Atakapa-Ishak Nation of Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas, an historically important and federally-unrecognized tribal nation. Recently he was a writer-in-residence at A Studio in the Woods, a campus of Tulane University.
