Rochelle Verdin of the United Houma Nation


Bio

Rochelle Morgan-Verdin is originally from southern Louisiana and grew up in a bilingual and bicultural household.  As an enrolled member of the United Houma Nation, Rochelle carries her culture proudly and allows this to guide her commitment to social change.  Rochelle earned her master’s degree in International Law and Human Rights from The United Nations-Mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica and her bachelor’s degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.  She currently works with Al Otro Lado’s Family Reunification Program to reunite asylum-seeking parents and children that were separated at the US-Mexico border.
